LA Wheel did a great job of chroming my Corvette wheels. Not only did they do a great job, but they also allowed me to ship my tire from Tire Rack to their location which saved me some money. They took off the old wheels and tires, mounted and the new one's in very efficient manner. LA Wheel provides a really good product, coupled with exemplary service. I would recommend them strongly.

The reason Dawn was singled out was that a customer had reported some issues with it. However, to make sure, we got this from the inventor of the Winterchrome™ process: "ANY mild dishwashing soap should work, including Dawn." Dawn is a mild soap, so you should be good; the customer who noted issues may have had curb-rashing.

If you're at all wary given that information, test Dawn (or whatever soap you want to use) on a section of the wheel that's normally covered by the tires (or in the rear). One or two applications should reassure you that you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the great question!

Why is Dawn Dish washing liquid damaging to Winterchrome finished wheels?
And are ALL liquid dishwashing soaps damaging?
I thought Dawn was a mild soap.

As someone who changes his own oil and the like, I really didn't know much about these numbers except for the rim size. Appreciate the detailed explanation being somewhere online.
